A while back our family was asked to perform a musical number at a family home evening event that our church put on for the inter-faith council in our area. People from different churches came to find out what family home evening is and participate in one.
We chose the primary song "Family Night", only we had to do a little editing because the original lyrics end with "Father and Mother, daughter, son..." After much debate we changed it to "Father and Mother, lots of sons..." It worked, and people got a kick out of it.
Everyone got a solo part, (except for Alex who flatly refused. He did grace us with his presence on stage, though, and generously joined in the chorus as an added treat.)
We sing this on every family night now. A new tradition.
