The Elves and the Homemaker

I've decided to join My Insanity's Spring Cleaning fun by sharing a post I did earlier in the month on my family blog Boys-R-Us about my two oldest sons' room.  They are 13 and 12 which explains a lot.  Warning: the images you are about to see are quite disturbing.

THE ELVES AND THE HOMEMAKER

When my two oldest boys left for school this morning their room looked like this:

An HOUR later it looked like this:

Was it a miracle?  Elves?  Do you thinkcleaned up their room? HA!  I'm not that kind of mom.  I did, however clean OUT their room.

It took about 45 minutes and FIVE 45 gallon trash bags, but the results are amazing!

I told them if they didn't clean their rooms, I'd  be happy to do it - my way.  I guess they decided to take me up on my generous offer.

I can't wait until they get home.  They are going to be so surprised!  Then when they realize they have nothing to wear, they are going to be surprised again.  The gift that keeps on giving.   (It feels so good to do service for your kids, don't you think?)

By the way, we will be having a huge garage sale in the next few weeks.  Pass the word.  Good stuff.

Maybe I'll be nice and offer the boys some employment opportunities around the house so they can earn a little money, and then go the extra mile and give them a pre-sale opportunity where they can buy back what they really want before the  garage sale begins.  Sometimes I am so nice, I even surprise myself.

What lucky kids I have, huh?

Wanna see what happened when they got home? Good stuff!  Click here.

Wow, it looks like a model home. Your boys will love it?!? Let me know how they act when they come home. Don't say anything, just let them go into their rooms and be surprised. Make sure you blog all about it. Maybe have the camera ready. That is great!!!

This is great! I was so amazed by the transformation you made in only an hour. Of course, now I understand why. But I think that is a fantastic lesson for your boys, and it is amazing how much more peaceful a clean room is.

Thanks for joining in my party! I bet a lot of moms are getting some big ideas!
