Round 'Em Up!

Last Friday was our school's annual fundraiser/carnival - the Reagan Round Up! Hee Haw!! (This pic is of my boys trying to look like tough-as-nails coyboys. You don't wanna mess with this gang!)

The carnival was filled with game, but the one these guys kept coming back to was the soda bottle ring toss. If you get a ring on a bottle of soda, you get to keep it. Maybe it is because we don't drink much soda at our house made them really love the idea of winning their very own 2-liter bottle of soda. Derek, Nathan, and Caleb are tried over and over again. The silly thing is that a turn with like 6 rings equaled $1 in tickets - and you can go to the store and BUY a bottle of soda for a buck. I think it was the principle of the thing - to get a bottle of soda, hold it in my face and say, "I've got my own soda - so there!"

In the end, the only kid in our family who won a soda bottle was Luke. To the winner goes the spoils! Way to go Luke!

Spinning. (Totally off the subject - Luke call stirring "spinning" so when I am stirring the pancake batter he asks if he can please 'spin' the batter. Too cute.)

It wasn't all fun and games. Alex was recruited to come help his alma mater by helping at one booth, and the twins each took a turn helping at the snow cone stand for robotics.

Luke had a blast in the bounce house. He climbed in with some big girls and the lady working it was worried about little Luke with those big kids. I told her he had 5 big brothers and would be fine. Sure enough, he was wild jumping around in there and soon the lady was worried about the safety of those big girls. Crazy boy!

Derek's teeth? Three words: Blue, Cotton, Candy.

The Reagan Roundup even had a train ride for the kiddos to enjoy. They called it a zero-gauge train - but it was a small tractor pulling several cars made out of oil drums. Very clever. The kids had a great time on the choo-choo.

The round up was also a great place to run into some of my posse - some of the cutest cowgirls anywhere! Love these ladies! And Drew was very proud of his new goldfish.

My boys also won a gold fish, Sushi by name, may he rest in peace.

And a barbeque was provided by Pat & Oscars. Messy but yummy. That's OK. Cowboys aren't cowboys without barbeque sauce all over their faces right?

We had a great time...

This is such a cute post...loved all of your cowboy/round-up pics. Cute kids, cute mom! You always have your camera in all of the right places...I need to take some lessons. I think mine was safely tucked in its place at home...hence no cute pictures of my own. Thanks for sending me a couple. :)
