Nathan is a pleasure to have in history class as he has a great background of knowledge, but is always eager to know more! He has contributed greatly to our class discussions on all periods of ancient history that we covered this year -- as well as being an avid geography student. He has worn out the atlas that he carries with him to class!
Afterwards, Mrs. Thomas said she was so excited to give Nathan this award. She said when she was told she had to pick a student, she knew immediately who it had to be. She said that when another class challenged their class to a spur-of-the-moment Jeopardy competition, the whole class picked Nathan to represent them. He won! The kicker is that the other class had been practicing all year. Nate hadn't practiced at all. He just knew his stuff.
It is true. Nathan has a mind like a sponge when it comes to trivia and history. Any Sunday school teacher he ever had will tell you how he knows all the scripture stories - details that other don't often catch, and that he loves to answer questions. He knows stuff I don't remember ever teaching him, and often stuff I didn't even know. Every day Nathan comes home from school saying, "Hey Mom, did you know..."and tells me some interesting story or fascinating tidbit.
Congratulations Nate! Someday maybe you'll be making history, and some student somewhere might be memorizing facts about you.
Nathan also has a band concert last week. (We couldn't even see him during the concert because of all the music stands, but I'm sure he did a great job)
We love you, Nate.

OK, seriously... how did you blog that so quick! Amazing! I wanted to congratulate Nathan (again) for receiving this award. Going tonight really made me feel so excited about our youth and the great things they are doing and learning. It was neat to see so many LDS kids up there receiving awards. Great job!!!!
Fabulous! Congrats to Nathan :)
Way to go Nate. We are so proud of you. When are we going to have history olympics with all these knowledge going around in these 12 year old boys' heads? I think Nathan better go with us to DC. Wouldn't that be great? Keep up the good work big guy so we can have you and Carson make our millions on jeopardy!
AWESOME!!!
Great Job Nate, you are amazing!!!!
Congratulations Nate! I was at the band concert and it was wonderful -- wheather we could see you or not.
