I am in the market for a really good pediatrician, the kind of pediatrician that actually listens to the mom, the kind of pediatrician who actually reads medical journals and uses a computer, the kind of pediatrician who has heard of
MRSA and
doesn't dismiss everything as a spider bite. Is that too much to ask for?
I need this doctor ASAP.
Any suggestions?

I'm so grateful you have Dylan home. Such good news! I'm feeling tired for you already. As for a pediatrician I really like my PA Stephen Wright but if you really want an amazing Dr. you might want to move to Utah to get one. I think most medical care is better there too.
It is probably really hard to find a great pediatrician in your area when medicine there is so geriatric centered. I'm so glad he is home. We are always praying for you.
Okay I really like my pediatrician his name is Dr. Villarasa in Palm Springs and if you want maybe a family doctor that is real good we see Dr. Freetag in Cat city and he is real good too. Good luck.
Sorry friend. I wish I knew one. I don't really like mine at all - especially after he wouldn't even discuss immunizations with me - just told me that you need to do them or they'll die. Well - thankfully I can research myself - and we choose not to immunize - but I still had a sign a waiver saying that I wouldn't hold them liable if my children die! whatever!
Let me know what you find out.
Pediatricians in this area, I mean decent ones, that actually listen to the mothers, apparently here that's asking too much...I've had great peds everywhere else that I've lived, Utah, Nor-Cali, so maybe at some point they'll venture down here too! Here's to hoping.
okay so I know we only met a few times briefly while I lived in the desert but I still follow your blog so my vote for a pediatrician in the desert is Dr. Su Rao she is in indio and is very good...she never left any stone unchecked and she was very understanding and NEVER made me feel stupid about any question I had to ask her. She came highly recomended to me by Michelle Lowel.
