Forever Strong

Last night was opening night for the new movie Forever Strong (Click to see the trailer.) It is about a real LDS rugby coach in Utah and how he taught the boys on his team not only how to win at rugby, but also how to be honorable men and win at life.  It was absolutely wonderful!  Exciting, great story, great cinematography, great acting,  and so many of those lines that make you say, "Wow, that was good, I'll have to remember that for a talk or something."  I think it is the kind of movie every young person should see, because of the life lessons it teaches.  It is rated pg-13 because rugby is a violent sport and there was blood.  (My boys will never play rugby - unless they get this coach, then I'd make them play.)  They never say in the movie that the coach was LDS, but he is.  He reminded me of my swim coach in high school, Coach John Lowell, who cared more about the women we would become than the swimmers we were.  He would sit down and talk to us and taught us the important life lessons at every opportunity he could find.  He, too, was LDS and shared his testimony every day without ever coming out and saying it.

Unfortunately, there were only a handful of us in the theater, and we knew everyone there from church, including Dennis' uncle Marty and his family.  This is exactly the kind of quality, moral movie that we need to see more of in the theaters.  I encourage all of you to go see this movie and see it soon, so they will keep this movie in the theaters, and will continue to make movies like this.  Bring your older kids.  I'm definitely going to bring my 4 older boys to go see it, because I want them to be forever strong.  I promise you won't be disappointed!

KIA KAHA!!!!
It was such an inspiring movie. It feels so good to walk out of a movie uplifted and happy. The best part of the movie by far was the incredible inflatable crowd. How did they do that?
