The Guest of Honor

We had a special guest at our ward Christmas party this year - Baby Jesus. The whole event was centered around Christ, and it was just very nice.

Baby Jesus was on each table, and every guest had these little bags of chocolate gold coins and to give to the baby. They included gifts of service that we could really give to Christ. A great idea!

Some of the older primary kids did a nativity play. Their costumes were great and they really did a very nice job. You could tell that they put a lot of work into it, and the stage set was well done too!

Interspersed throughout the play were musical numbers performed by different members and families in our ward. I really loved all of these. They all did such a great job.

We even had our turn. We were asked to perform. Originally we thought Nate and Dylan could do an instrumental duet, but it turned out that Dylan's version on the piano, and Nathan's version on the saxophone were in different keys. But they both sounded great and we didn't have enough time to try to transpose anything, so we decided to just let dylan play a verse solo, then Nathan play a verse solo, then the rest of us sang a verse while Dylan played. It was kind of random, but oh well. They did a nice job, and I was glad for the opportunity for Nathan to play his sax, since a sax is not something you usually get to play at church.

It was a great evening and I hope our guest of honor felt very loved!
