SD Camp Out - Day 3 - Sea World

Thursday was our designated Sea World day. And of course the first ride that everyone wanted to go on was Atlantis. Luke was measured and was not found wanting - he was just exactly tall enough to go on the rides, which meant he got a bracelet certifying to everyone in the park that he was indeed officially a big boy. He was SO excited (nobody gets excited like Luke gets excited) and kept showing everyone his bracelet and saying, "Yay, I am big now. I am really, really big now!" That alone made my day!

We got SOAKED on the Shipwreck rapids! It was a hot day so no complaints by me.

We had to watch Elmo 3D - at Nathan's insistence. Really. My teenager begged.

My favorite was the sea lion show. It was just hilarious! Really clever.
There are so many beautiful and colorful underwater creatures in this world, but my kids liked all the creepiest, like the moray eels and the piranhas...

And, of course, the sharks! I have morbid little kids.

They couldn't get enough of the sing rays either. Boys love slimy.

We finished things off in Elmo's playland. They had a blast!

That evening the campground sponsored a "lollipop hunt" for the kids. Like an egg hunt, but they had to search for lollipops in the dark with their flash lights. The kids thought it was the best! That was one really nice thing about the KOA - there were a lot of fun scheduled activities for the kids.

The KOA also has a great playground and a pool that the kids really took advantage of. My brother Rick, who played water polo in college got in with them and threw the ball around with them and gave them a few pointers. The boys were really excited about that because Uncle Rick is just so cool in their eyes.

Then all that was left of the day were some more s'mores by the campfire. Those never grow old when you are camping.
