Today I was driving to a friend's home with Luke to go visiting teaching. As Luke has had an issue lately with potty mouth (the 3 year-old version) I was doing some mom-coaching on the way, reminding him that he must be a nice boy at her home and not say bad words.
"OK," Luke announced. "I won't say mean words like stupidhead and butthead. I'll just say nice words like fluffy and rubber ducky! Fluffy and rubber ducky are nice words. People like those words."
I almost had to pull of the road and hold my breath to keep from laughing. Where did he pluck those two words from?
But you have to admit - fluffy and rubber ducky are about the two most inoffensive words anywhere. Maybe I should replace my bad words with fluffy and rubber ducky (so, like, when I am driving with my kids listening to, say, the State of the Union Address on the radio I can say "Oh PLEASE! What a rubber ducky! That is the fluffyiest fluff I have ever heard!")
Try it! ( It feels just as good rolling off the tongue.) I think Luke was onto something.

both fluffy and rubber ducky are completely charming.
I am laughing out loud right now! Especially when those words are used in conjunction with the state of the union address. :)
